Jean Jouy is the pseudonym of an anonymous French illustrator and author of an erotic book compiling a series of poems and short stories. Estimated to be published in 1946, it was printed in a very limited and numbered edition of 275 and Pâme was lucky enough to acquire the book s very first edition out of an auction. 

Such collectible erotic books were usually destined to an exclusive group of subscribed members. The selected texts often served as a vehicle to publish explicit illustrations that are meant to pâme their readers. 

The name Jean Jouy , is a deliberate worl play with the French phrase j en jouis meaning I m enjoying it . The very jouir may also carry a sexual connotation meaning I m coming and essentially referring to the moment of sexual climax. As our brand name s very essence is about that gratifying loss of consciousness, we simply had to resuscitate these hedonistic illustrations on our signature medium of silk.
