Susulular (Mermaids): These arousing aquatic creatures of Turkic mythology were often believed to seduce young men into drowning them in the Anatolian waters. Other legends recount them as sensual symbols of desire, beauty and elegance. Özlem’s Susulular represents two female mermaids that have gave in to their temptation, passionately embracing each other in an amorous silhouette, thereby challenging their deceitful reputation.
